Yes, it is correct what someone said. In a country like Australia, a first world country, children pursue the course of study based on their interest and seldom for any other reasons.

I emigrated to Australia 3 years ago, I agree your points of view, but one thing I have to remind you is that, I were and am a bright person who scored straight As long time ago.

I studied "agriculture" and my daughter - considered another bright student, she studying "wood technology" in Tasmania. I am not agreed with you that, the bright students should go for medical or pharmacy courses and the "agriculture" and "wood technology" are for "?" students.

You are living in a Australia country without constitutional discrimination, please change your mind "do not discriminate" other subjects. Those subjects like "agriculture" and "wood technology" are the backbone of the Australia economy.

The bright kids could go to any course they like, for instance, art and music.

One thing you notice is that when they enter the university, they could really perform very well simply because they have the passion for the course they have chosen.

As what the Chinese says: "Not a strong dragon, no crossing the river." They really have outstanding performances in the university.

As parents, we also do not interfere with their choices very much, they decide themselves. I should say most kids at that age are very mature, they know what they want.
